A Success Story

What a night on the river! It was the perfect paddle. I went up river for an hour and twenty minutes gung ho. The tide was cresting and I wanted to get up around the tidal limit of the Patuxent, to where I had spotted two kayaks in the woods that were suspected of being stolen from a paddling buddy of ours. Flood tide and a light breeze at my back, temp about 75, blue sky and no humidity. Does it get better? Yes! I felt like I had a winning lottery number when the serial numbers matched up to those my friend had provided of boats stolen from him two years ago! It took me a while to cut through the bike-lock cables, then drain the accumulated water from the boats before rafting them together and rigging a tow line. By the time I was headed back, it was beginning to dusk over, the tide was picking up its ebb flow, and the wind had died. And oh yes, the just shy of full moon was already up. With the leafs still not out on the trees, the moonlight was very bright over the mirror smooth water. With the recovered yaks found, identified, and placid in tow, I could relax and enjoy the twilight. Sweet! Osprey, herons, ducks, owls, birds, fish jumping, and beaver slapping angrily where all over. I used the cell to call my friend, and he met me at the landing, so I didn't even have to load the extra boats!

It's great that CPA web has that stolen boats info, which provided the serial numbers. Just another great thing about CPA!
