The non-profit, organization is supported by more than 116,500 members and works to reduce pollution, restore habitat, and replenish the Bay's fisheries.
    • Leave No Trace
      The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships. Leave No Trace builds awareness, appreciation and respect for our wildlands.
    • National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS)
      NOLS, a non-profit school, has 39 years of experience and curriculum development. Since 1965 more than 75,000 graduates have benefited from the very best outdoor education available.
    • Potomac Conservancy
      A resource for land trusts, conservation professionals, and others interested in protecting Potomac watershed lands. The Potomac Conservancy hosts this service to promote resource-sharing and regional collaboration in an effort to expand land protection efforts throughout the watershed.

    • South River Federation

    • American Canoe Association
      Organization dedicated to all forms of paddle sports including rafting canoeing and kayaking. Sponsoring instruction and national competitive events and programs relatd to safety and conservation.
    • British Canoe Union
      The British Canoe Union (BCU) is the Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking in the UK. It represents the interests of canoeists at local, national and international level, and is a member of the International Canoe Federation.
    • Canoe Cruisers Association
      Canoe Cruisers Association is the kayak and canoe club of Greater Washington, DC whose main purpose is to unite persons interested in paddling the Potomac River Basin and adjacent watersheds. The nonprofit group (with about 1000 members) offers a variety of outings and instruction.
    • Chesapeake Association of Sea Kayakers
      Sea kayaking club located in the Tidewater, VA area, including all of Hampton Roads and surrounding areas. Offers an organization for active kayakers and canoeists to gather in the company of others that share like interests. In addition, through group paddles, forums, and other social gatherings, CASK collectively provides a fun, safe, ever evolving environment to enjoy this fun and challenging sport in local area.

      KASK's mission is to: Promote and encourage the sport of sea kayaking; Promote safety standards; Develop techniques and equipment Deal with issues of coastal access and protection; Organise sea kayak forums around the country; Publish the Sea Canoeist Newsletter and the KASK Handbook.
    • Southern Maine Sea Kayaking Network
      A network of sea kayakers who get together to paddle, learn, and socialize. This is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. Network members range from novice to advanced paddlers.

    • Woody's Peer Paddling Community
      A peer paddle is a kayak trip organized by friends or others interested in paddling with a group. It is non-club specific, and the organizer determines what (if any) requirements must be met to participate. Participants in the paddling trip all recognize there are inherent dangers in Sea Kayaking and that they, and they alone, are responsible for assessing their abilities as being of appropriate level for the trip.
