Launch Sites, Harford County

Broad Creek

On the Susquehanna, a County operated launch site. No fees. Access upstream on Broad Creek or down stream to the Susquehanna. No currents on either.

Directions: Along US 1, 15 miles north of Bel Air to MD 623. North on MD 623 2 1/4 miles. It's on the right. No facilities.

Glen Cove

On the Susquehanna, a County operated launch site. Sometimes they ask for a launch fee. Right on the Susquehanna. Bathrooms and a snack shop.

Directions: Along US 1, 15 miles north of Bel Air to MD 623. North on MD 623 1/2 mile to a right onto Berkley Road. It's at the bottom of the hill about 1/2 mile.

Havre de Grace

On the Susquehanna. There are three sites in town. One is at Jean Roberts Memorial Park on Waters Street just below US 40. A better site is at the Tidewater Grill. There is a cove with a beach in front of the Tidewater which is along the river on St Johns Street. A third is at Millard E Tydings Park. No trailer-no fee. Access to the upper Bay or the Susquehanna.

Directions: I95 north to exit for MD 155. Go right - east – to where 155 ends. Right on Juniata and immediate left on Erie and follow it around to Water St. You'll see Starrk Moon Kayak and Jean Roberts park at the end of Water St. Follow along the water to get to the Tidewater and another 3/4 mile to Tydings Park.

Otter Point

A County facility. Access to Bush River, Otter Point Creek, and Church Creek to the north. Porta potty.

Directions: I95 north of Baltimore to MD24 exit. South on MD 24 to US 40 then North on US 40 about one mile. Turn right onto Otter Point Road. Less than 1/2 mile to the launch.

Mariner Point Park

A County facility. Toilets in season. Porta potty out of season. Access to the Gunpowder towards the Bay, up towards US 40 through the marshes, and to Days Cove.

Directions: I95 north of Baltimore to MD 152. South on 152 to US 40 and west on US 40 about 1 mile to Joppa Farm Road (the next light). Left on Joppa Farm Rd 1 mile to Kearney Dr. Right on Kearney 1/4 mile.
