KIPP-5 Number 6
This is the fifth year for the KIP (Kent Island Paddle) event and I think it has been very successful in accelerating our learning curve in paddling.
When: September 11, 2010 (Saturday)
Skill Level:
(Advanced Beginner) This event is for those who have been on longer trips (up to 10 miles, full day outings), have some experience with varying conditions such as winds and waves and have good rescue and group-paddling skills.
Organizer(s):
The KIP series is for paddlers who want to have a distance challenge, build their skills and knowledge of paddling. It is meant for those that join in to have a bonding experience with each other, with the paddle and to meet their goals. For the practice sessions KIPP (Kent Island Practice Paddle) is a group effort to paddle together once a month. The final paddle is a personal effort. Your speed and distance on the final paddle is up to you. If this interests you, put this series of 7 paddles on your calendar and get in touch with me. Let me know something about yourself, your paddling and the kind of kayak you have.
For the safety of the group as a whole, trip participants must agree to abide by club policies and rules and to follow instructions of the trip leader. Potential paddlers will be pre-screened for skills and equipment.
