This was on December 29. A gray, but very calm day, despite the weather forecast. Saw (and heard) thousands of ducks and geese, eagles, and a small number of Tundra Swans. Weirdest thing was the sound of the duck hunter's guns coming over the water--a kind of blurping sound that made you think your boat was holed. A lucky group of 13 paddlers.
